Doug has collaborated with Alabama high school art students\, Priceville Elementary kindergartners and Artist\, Jerry Slayton for a portion of the exhibit to include whooping crane puppets\, found nature elements and digital art. Using drawing/mending\, hand paper making and natural dyes\, Doug’s work reflects his personal exploration of grief and mortality\, nesting\, mending\, memory\, the physical body and spirituality. His work intentionally uses fibers and dyes from Alabama to parallel and draw attention and ask searching questions about Alabama’s biodiversity. His love and reverence for the natural landscape of our area is unmistakable in his installations that allow the viewer to immerse themselves in a unique cognitive experience. \nSpecial hours during the Festival of the Cranes\nSaturday\, January 12\, 10-4pm\nSunday\, January 13\, 11-3pm[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”fineprint”]All images copyright of the artist.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInRight” width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”935″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” el_class=”extra_works” z_index=””][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”937″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”938″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”939″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][/vc_row] \n
