Each of these artists have different stories that helped mold their unique personal styles but they also have a shared journey and a common passion for the painted word. Susan draws her inspiration from nature and life. Botanicals\, portraits\, and landscapes are her most common subjects. Douglas specializes in the technique of plein air painting to capture his artistic expression of grand landscapes found across the United States. Their daughter\, Jennifer\, also draws inspiration from nature and people. Many of her pieces feature moments of everyday life that immerse the viewer\, making them an active participant in the scene. With their respective styles and subjects\, these artists encourage the viewer to reflect and appreciate the little details that make our world beautiful. \nTo learn more about these artists and their work\, please visit the links below.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInRight” width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”7031″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” el_class=”extra_works” z_index=””][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”7063″ img_size=”750×750″ alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””]About Douglas[/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”7031″ img_size=”750×750″ alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””]About Susan[/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”7059″ img_size=”750×750″ alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””]About Jennifer[/vc_column][/vc_row] \n

SUMMARY:Portrait of an Artist\, Miriam McClung
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” el_class=”single_event_top” z_index=””][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Current Community Art Wall\, Exhibit\n LaKelle Brawley: Airport Artwall\n \n \n Mar 15–Jul 15\, 2026\n Huntsville International Airport\n \n	[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nArt is an expression of self — each work contains something of its creator. This exhibition reveals Miriam McClung through her colorful\, expressive portraits. By capturing the expressions and moods of her subjects\, she offers a window into each person’s inner life. The process is reciprocal. Just as we perceive the people in our lives through the lens of our own experiences\, McClung brings something of herself to each work. Her portraits of others are\, in this sense\, also a portrait of the artist. The paintings are consistently evocative — the viewer feels what the subjects feel. This is particularly true of her portraits of family members\, where McClung’s deep personal connection to her subjects is unmistakable. \nA reception for this exhibit will be held on Friday\, July 24.[/vc_column_text]About Miriam[/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInRight” width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”7123″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][vc_separator type=”normal”][vc_column_text]Artist Self-portrait by Miriam McClung\, 1970.
