Her work has been highlighted as a “quiet sanctuary” for viewers\, emphasizing the power of gentleness and the reclamation of space through art.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]“Art feels like the healed version of myself. It is my sanctuary\, a space where I reconnect with softness\, vulnerability\, and the beauty of becoming… using mixed media\, acrylic paint\, and beaded elements\, I honor the blossoming spirit of Black women… my hope is that viewers are reminded that growth does not have to be harsh. Softness is not weakness\, it is strength in its purest form.”[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]If you are interested in purchasing any of LaKelle’s pieces\, call the Carnegie: 256-341-0562 or email Alison@carnegiearts.org. \nInterested in seeing more of LaKelle’s artwork? Susan draws her inspiration from nature and life. Botanicals\, portraits\, and landscapes are her most common subjects. Douglas specializes in the technique of plein air painting to capture his artistic expression of grand landscapes found across the United States. Their daughter\, Jennifer\, also draws inspiration from nature and people. Many of her pieces feature moments of everyday life that immerse the viewer\, making them an active participant in the scene. With their respective styles and subjects\, these artists encourage the viewer to reflect and appreciate the little details that make our world beautiful. \nTo learn more about these artists and their work\, please visit the links below.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInRight” width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”7031″ img_size=”full” qode_css_animation=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” el_class=”extra_works” z_index=””][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”7063″ img_size=”750×750″ alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””]About Douglas[/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”7031″ img_size=”750×750″ alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””]About Susan[/vc_column][vc_column css_animation=”fadeInUp” width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”7059″ img_size=”750×750″ alignment=”center” qode_css_animation=””]About Jennifer[/vc_column][/vc_row] \n
