Andrea grew up in a creative household and loved drawing animals as a child.  As an adult, she began painting en plein air, or painting landscapes from life, under the instruction of Kim Barrick.  It’s only been in recent years that she began utilizing her in-home studio more and has begun creating studio pieces, as well.  Andrea has become totally immersed in the art industry through her work as a studio assistant to Dawn Whitelaw and Roger Dale Brown.  Dawn Whitelaw has also acted as her mentor for the past 10 years.  She has also studied with Jason Saunders, Anne Blair Brown, Marc Hanson, and Charlie Hunter.

Andrea has been a long time member of the Chestnut Group, a Nashville based plein air group with a membership base of 240 members.   In 2015 she served as the group’s President.   She also served on the Board of Directors for 5 years and was co-chair on two art shows benefitting the Duck River Conservancy.  Her activities with the Chestnut Group have helped raise critical funds for many Middle Tennessee conservation groups including, Friends of Radnor Lake, The Nature Conservancy, Friends of Warner Parks, Cumberland River Compact, and The Land Trust for Tennessee.
