Vist the Carnegie Visual Arts Center

The historic Carnegie, built in 1904, is a public building that now serves as the area’s first art museum and education center.

The main level houses different exhibits throughout the entire calendar year. The Daikin America Education Center, located on the lower level, offers the opportunity for people of all ages to learn about and create art.

The Carnegie Visual Arts Center is located in the historic Old Decatur neighborhood within walking distance of the Old State Bank and just minutes away from the shopping and dining of downtown Decatur’s Bank Street and Second Avenue. The Carnegie is a stop on the Tennessee River Boat tours and a few blocks away from the soon-to-open Cook Museum of Natural Science.

Admission:

Admission to view the exhibits is free, donations are welcome, and membership of the Carnegie Visual Arts Center is encouraged.

The Carnegie Visual Arts Center is open to the public Tuesday – Friday and Saturday, as well as evenings and weekends by appointment. The Carnegie is occasionally closed during regular hours for exhibit installation or private rentals. Administrative hours are Tuesday – Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
