Programs

The appreciation of art builds common bonds between people. At the Carnegie, we believe one of our goals is to help foster an environment that builds community through our programs.

Carnegie Travel

Seeking a way to bring members together for the joy of travel, the Carnegie Visual Arts Center introduced the Carnegie Travel Group in 2010. This outreach program offers Carnegie Members annual travel opportunities to great destinations around the country and beyond.

Yoga at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center

Carnegie Yoga

Yoga is held at the Carnegie on Monday and Wednesday at 6:15 PM and is open to everyone. All levels of experience are welcome. Bring a water bottle and mat. Cost is only $5.

Rack ‘n Roll

Rack ‘n Roll is an arts trail promoting healthy fun for the whole family and alternative transportation. The trail features artistic steel structures that are visually striking and functional but also funky bike racks. Placement of these original designs is throughout Decatur’s downtown arts community, with additions along the Dr. Bill Sims Hike-Bike Way which is expanding from Decatur’s deep southeast area into southwest Decatur.

We welcome more additions to this ongoing public art project. Sponsorships of bike racks are available. For more information, please contact the Carnegie at 256-341-0562.
