LaKelle Brawley: HSV Airport Community Artwall

LaKelle Brawley is an Alabama-based mixed media artist known for creating layered, textured works that explore Black womanhood, healing, and tenderness. Her work has been highlighted as a “quiet sanctuary” for viewers, emphasizing the power of gentleness and the reclamation of space through art.

“Art feels like the healed version of myself. It is my sanctuary, a space where I reconnect with softness, vulnerability, and the beauty of becoming… using mixed media, acrylic paint, and beaded elements, I honor the blossoming spirit of Black women… my hope is that viewers are reminded that growth does not have to be harsh. Softness is not weakness, it is strength in its purest form.”
